OM60x Pressure Relief / Overflow Valve
Are the pressure-relief / overflow valves on the OM60x engines known to be unreliable? The original one on my SDL was bad (stuck open, no resistance to flow) and was replaced with an OE one bought directly from Mercedes.
Long story short, the IP was bad and got replaced this past weekend. New IP solved several issues I had with the car, but absolutely refused to rev and would set up a hunt at idle with the EDS solenoid losing its mind. Checked the PRV and sure enough.....stuck open. Mind you, this was the OE part I bought from Mercedes! The IP came with it's own PRV that was good and has now been installed. So just curious....are these a known high-failure item, or am I just cursed? I'm thinking the latter...

I don't know if this is an exact pic of yours but the valve has a plastic piece that warps or crubles.
Perhaps the one from mercedes sat on the shelf for a long time and the plastic warped. Also I believe Mercedes Parts have a one year warranty if you bought them from the dealer.
