1985 300SD 1/2 fuse panel dead

i have lost power to the dash, heater fan, brake lights when the lights are off and blinkers. I have tested the panel with a voltage light under the hood and have no blown fuses but i also don't have power to most fuses.
interior lights door locking system radio, clock and antenna still work.
I am thinking a relay but i don't have a manual to know what goes to what.
thanks in advance

Do the functions which are lost depend on your ignition? Let's look at that first.

Circuit Diagram Index

Likely culprit is fuse 12, either burnt out or making a poor connection.

yes the non working items would require the key to be on to work. when the key is on only the lights, window radio and clock work. I am taking it in on thursday it is looking like something in the ignition switch that is not feeding the majority of the fuse panel.
I will post what it was when it is fixed.
Thanks

After starting vehicle - wiggle the key very slightly (lightly) left and right and see if things come on. If you find a sweet spot the contact are worn on the ignition switch. This was something I lived with for years on my 85SD.
