Rubber Fuel Hose Size 300D 2.5
Anyone know the fuel hose sizes for the rubber lines in the w124 300d 2.5. I'm not nearby the car and can't go out to it to easily idenitfy. I'm going to go the store and would like to know the sizes if ya'll know so I could replace these dry rotted hoses. I'm just looking for the sizes of the ones in the engine bay..

IIRC, mine are 8mm - 5/16". I'd guess that's pretty common for most MB's though that does not include the little hoses for injector overflow which I think were 1/8" though I might be off on those.
That's for my OM617 but my guess is that it's pretty standard across the board. Anyone else have better info? Dan |

I recall buying 5/16" Goodyear Barricade fuel hose for my OM617, from lift pump to main fuel filter, and same hose most other locations, even the ends of the "cigar" hose. Standard size on U.S. cars too, except some large engines use 3/8" on suction side. The small injector return hoses are 1/8", and I used Viton (ebay), but don't know about W124 cars.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone know what size the general vacuum lines are?

Vacuum hoses are the same size as most small ones on 60-80's U.S. cars (say "vacuum advance" to distributor). I recall 1/8" = 3 mmID. I replaced many on my 84 & 85 300D w/ silicone hose (ebay), purty blue no less, but can also buy in black.
