I have an O'Reilly's nearby, so that's always a plus. However, when the car is your daily driver, I'm not so sure I'll want to remove it at the store when I get there. Perhaps best for me to just show 'em the engine bay and go from there for a #4 hose alternative that I can Ginsu up with a flushing tee.

And jay_bob, yep! Defrost button; all heat, all the time! Unless I have something wrong with my controls. If so, all three of those boxes will be sent to JamesDean for an electronic refresh!

Having owned several old W-123's with incredibly bad solder bloom and year of tap water only damage to clean out, I prefer the Citric Acid flushing, it's amazing to look in the water jacket and see bight shiny metal .

Remember : the heater core will retain liquid until you blow it out by disconnecting the hoses...

Or by running distilled water straight .

Good and timely article / reminder here .

UPDATE:

See post #11 on how I (actually my nephew) recently performed a flush and fill, using a radiator flush solvent. Didn't end up using the Prestone kit.

Aargggh! '81 300D W123---No Heat at Idle (Suggestions?)
