Explicit instructions and FSM link were provided in that post.
Could even be left connected and zip-tied out of the way to avoid using a screwdriver to jump the solenoid when another random no-start situation exists.

The remote starter switch only energizes the solenoid. If the solenoid is bad, you're no better off than futzing around with the key. The screwdriver trick actually bypasses the solenoid. When the screwdriver shorts the 2 heavy bolts together, it is doing what the solenoid usually does, that's why the starter cranks. This is also why you need the screwdriver to do it....you're passing a couple hundred amps through it.
