Guys
Some of you are getting confused between the heavy duty W123 skid plate shown in the picture posted by MBeige and the LATER W124 / W201 anti-noise plastic things. The later more modern things are not designed to stop under vehicle damage. Nearly all W201 and W124 models were fitted with these things and most now (as said above) have gone missing! The earlier heavy duty (2.5mm or so) thick SKID PLATES that were optional on the W123. The W123 had the option of two skid plates. The big one - as shown earlier in the thread - and a smaller one that went in front of this one to protect the radiator. The smaller one is as common as rocking horse ****. I managed to buy one of the last original W123 skid plates so if any one is interested I might be willing to part with it for lots and lots of money! |

The W123 skid plates are still available. Desert Panther got one from somewhere. He's supposed to come over this weekend to do some stuff to one of his cars. I'll ask him where he located it.
Heavy duty metal mutha. He lives in the boonies on an unpaved road so he needs one. |
The oil pan plates should still be available.
I got mine recently and they are around $150 from dealer Radiator plates are NLA so I was lucky to find one NOS. not sure how rare these are |
