Since mine are clicking getting them rebuilt is off the table.

Axle threads seem to be kind of like oil, filter and additive threads with lots of options and no real consensus.
There is no consensus because of costs, resources, and the ability of the person doing the job and of course personal choice. Another factor is if you need to get your car back on the road ASAP and that often limits you choices.

If you get the aftermarket annular axles be sure to remove one bolt at a time and use a thread locker on the threads when you assemble. Some eople that did not do that have had the bolts come loose on the road.

There is an option that is not often spoke of. Dorman and the Flex Boot company sell a pneumatic tool for mechanic shops to change their boots with. That means there must be shops out their that will change the Boots for you.

Yet, I cannot recall reading a thread where anyone has done that.

If you do get a local shop to do the job you are going to need to decide if you want grease or oil to lube the joint. Info on that is in the repair links on axles.

My Cardone rebuilts came with grease in them and that famous rebuild CJV (CVJ?) uses grease unless you request Oil.

....and/or safety wire, as indicated above
