That's a lot of money. Aren't they like 85 cents here on PeachParts?

You guys always seem to forget the shipping price for that $1 part.

For the record, I plan on giving our good friends here at Pelican business, I just want to get the Sleeping White Dragon (my nickname for my ride, since it's a little bit sleepy, it's white and it smokes a little, like a dragon!) driveable while I wait for my postman to deliver the goods from the Pelican!

SUCCESS! In the first pic, you can see what I purchased. At Best Buy, they had the Metra 60A/100A combo for $5.99 or...the Kickers I purchased (80A) at $11.99. Ridiculous price-wise, yes, but hey...when you need to get your car out on the road...
So, this AFS 80A fuse is a little bit too large for the fuse bay. Matter of fact, it basically sat on top of the plastic. I decided to tighten them down anyway, and lo and behold, it started to sink right in to the bay. Sort of. If you look at the second picture, you will see that it sits at a little bit of an angle, but the side facing other potential electric contact is down inside the bay, with a slight bit sticking up on the bay's outer edge. This is with both screws tightened as tight as I could get them without stripping anything. After replacing the negative battery terminal, I went to fire up said car, and saw "Glow, little Glow Light, Glimmer, Glimmer!". And viola, it starts! Pic 3 is the old fuse. Umm yeah, it was "divorced" from itself, for sure. Thanks for the help everyone! Last edited by iladelf; 04-04-2017 at 09:09 PM. |
