is there a K1 Accumulator Spring Kit for 722.3x trans?
i'm looking to try the k1 and/or k2 kits for my 82 300D - I believe I have the 722.3 transmission.
Pelican sells K1 Accumulator Spring Kit, Part #: 126-270-44-77-MBZ. But the details page specifically says "Not Applicable to the 722.3 transmission" So, is there a k1 and/or k2 accumulator spring kit that does fit my transmission?

The superior kit includes a couple of single springs which may be a good substitute for your compound K1 spring. The PN I have for both the K1 and K2 in a 722.3 is 1262704477.

OK - sorry confusion, just trying to clarify.
there is this one (part 126-270-44-77-MBZ): 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Base Sedan - Automatic Transmission - Page 5 and if I'm hearing correctly, you can use one kit on the k1, and a second kit on the k2? Or am I reading that wrong. and then there is the superior kit k722AD - which i ordered already. Does this have all the components of one of those 126-270-44-77-MBZ kits plus a few other springs?

The only part number for both in my notes is the one you mention. That doesnt mean it's correct, but that's been the consensus of the group grope in the past.
The Superior kit includes replacements for every sping in the valve body, including many that you really don't want to mess with. Unlike the Mercedes K1 and K2, the Superior springs are single element, as opposed to stock springs which are usually two or three light springs with a plastc keeper. The Superior springs may be a bit firmer than stock. This makes engagement somewhat less progressive, but not harsh. I'm currently using a Superior K1 and a stock K2, so don't be concerned if you have to mix and match. |
