My seat belt doesn't retract like it should. There's only one seat belt repair shop in the entire USA that fixes these seat belts, plus I'd be without a belt for 10 days or so while they fix it.

I'm wondering what other belts work with these models. I saw one on ebay that said the belt works on e320, e420, and W124's. Is anywhere where I can verify that with a cross reference somewhere?

You should be able to interchange all w124 (that is, sedan) driver's seat belts with each other. They are all the same belt length and the mounting points, buckle, and electrical connector are all the same. I would just buy one on eBay that can still retract and call it a day. If you're concerned with your safety and can't trust a used seat belt, just buy a new one. Remember this is your main safety item
