Mike, the TD engine is basically ready to be pulled, just one engine mount bolt is stuck. Thing is the M110 is on the crane now being worked on, but be easy to get that sitting on the floor, then get the crane through the house and out back.

Hey, when things are resolved and able to make an offer for the turbocharged OM617a, bet will still be here. Not planing to build the TDL anytime soon, might never happen.

Thank you for letting me know it is them, not me.

Though most frustrating was preparing the doors to be shipped off, then find out he wanted pristine doors, even under the rubber seal, and I was asking far below market trying to help out (was hit and not at fault).

SLS pump
Rear hatch door card and interior trim.
Third row seat & hardware.
Resonator

If it works the SLS pumps seem to get good money on e bay.

You might see if rebuilt remanufactured mercedes benz automatic transmissions want the transmission. Nevermind, I thought they were in AZ.

Thank you for the advice, much appreciated! :D

Started looking on eBay again and was shocked at the prices for an S.L.S. non-turbo head. Shouldn't be something hard to store once off the engine, so alright if take a while (not like in high demand).

Surprised the interior panels have any value, considering never wear out and these aren't in the best shape.

If had the third row, would pit that in the TE. ;)

Good idea on the transmission! Am going to be driving up to Portland this Summer, so if they wanted it, could bring it along.

Wow, didn't know about this resource, thank you! :D Not sure of the condition, so if doesn't sell, just go that route. Am shocked a core is worth that much.

How about giving me feedback on my for sale post? Maybe eBay price divided in half is too high.

"Parting out a '79/'80 W123 300TD. Any reasonable offer considered, including combining.

Automatic transmission was working, though no service history. $300

Engine for parts only, due to a bad piston ring, though of course rather sell whole for $750.
Support arms $25 each
Pulleys $25 each
Injectors $30 each, or $125 for all five.
Air filter housing $75
S.L.S pump $125
S.L.S. tank $100
Do have the S.L.S. hard lines if anyone interested.
Fuel pump with A.D.A. and hard lines $125
Power steering pump $50
Thermostat housing $50
Intake manifold $100
Exhaust manifold $100
Engine fan $50
Cylinder head $500
Pistons $50 each or $225 for the set
Crankshaft $100

All the interior was not perfect, dash cracked, so doubt any interest there, but informing that still have it, even the carpet for patterns.
The 2nd row wagon only seats were in the best shape, $200 for all of it.
Glove box $25

Hood $175 each
Grill $50"

Thank you so very much in advance for any help! :D

Fuel pump with A.D.A. and hard lines if this is the injection pump, i'd sell it for $300 on eBay
Power steering pump $50
Thermostat housing $50
Intake manifold $50 NA parts aren't worth that much
Exhaust manifold $50
Engine fan $50
Cylinder head $200 again, it's an NA head.. won't work on a turbo
Pistons $50 each or $225 for the set
Crankshaft $100

I modified your parts list with what I think is fair and what most people would be willing to pay in BOLD with corrections. Clarify on the injectors as well and if you mean the injection pump. Good luck Adriel! you could easily have 2 grand there in parts alone.. just will take time

It isn't "really" starting a project when you're only collecting parts that you'll soon need. That only starts when you acquire he vehicle.

Mine said "no projects until you finish some". I interpret that to mean that I can go wild on the current projects.

Jake, thank you so very much! :D

The head alone is worth at least $250, plus all the rest, so why sell the engine at the same price? Just curious.

Good point about clarifying the injectors.

Why only eBay for the injection pump? And yes, my brain forgot the term... :o

Would be happy with even $1,500, that provide five months of living expenses. As for time, if can get the engine out of here, that free up a lot. Next be the seats, dash, H.V.A.C. box, hey wait, that isn't on the list...

Maybe should stay single. :P Though vehicals and parts don't satisfy the companionship and sharing experiences.

Nice methods of interpreting the rules, Junkman.

Sadly though, Mike has another pressing financial obligation, but not planning on parting the 300TD-T so should still be available when he is ready.

Why

" so why sell the engine at the same price? Just curious "

Because you said " If you need anything, please let me know and will give you a good deal." and then ask full retail price for unwaranteed parts .

You offered me a bent and non working TD antenna for $100 (?!) when Mercedes Specific Junk yards get less than that for guaranteed ones and most independent Junk yards get $20 for a working one then you got snarky when I politely pointed this out .

I imagine you don't get further replies because of your failure to ask reasonable prices .

Don't get upset, just be aware you're not working in reality .

I'm no longer interested in your parts in any case .

Nate, if you look, I took Jake's advice to a degree. Actually, thinking if just tear it down, then can get it out of the way, rather than wait on someone to purchase whole.

I didn't ask full retail. Full retail would have been $300.

So, you ask for a motor and then upset the antenna is bent? How is that my fault I misunderstood what you wanted?

Didn't get snarky that am aware of, could you show me?

Actually, I offered it to you for $20, so don't see why you are stuck on the $100, to help someone that thought a friend, but get stabbed in the back publicly.

Reduced my prices down as recommended. So yes, might not and need to reduce further.

I am only upset by me trusting someone that decided to publicly attack me. Why be upset at advice? Did I get upset at Jake for suggesting prices? I don't think so, as showed my appreciation not only in word, but deed.

I be interested in only selling if you were polite, as don't want people am scared of having my address.

I can trump all the above, get a call at 7pm about certain 300d parts ,set price for said parts ,pushed to get parts together because the buyer is finalizing a car of his own ,arrive at storage where parts car is located 30 min. away from my location at 6am the next morning ,spend 2 hrs gathering parts ,wait at location ,crickets.
I would gather them ,picture them ,set price for all ,boxed and shipped for set price . Wait for the right person , ship .

Ha, nice trump. :D

And of course he didn't answer his telephone.

Good idea on just taking pictures, packaging, get a rough weight for shipping cost, then put up in the attic for when eventually get to it.

Except, only giving a month, then throwing out the masonite interior panels. I need that shelf space back.

chasinthesun 06-09-2017 04:49 PM

I didnt have to pay storage til jan . of this yr. Now that I do its a monthly reminder to get the stuff gone.

Ouch. I hate having storage unit, so I don't. Only one in the family that doesn't.

Guess we both either have to sell or trash.

LYING

Just to set the record straight : you never offered me anything for $20, period .

Lying is always wrong and doesn't make you look innocent .

EDIT: others here have contacted me off list and warned me about your dishonesty so don't compound it by lying more , O.K.? .

How is asking you to make a counter offer not the same as offering it for $20?

Guess need to post all the letters and have them evaluated? Then could learn from it.
