Throw W123 parts in the trash?
Come to grips with the reality no one wants the '79 TD parts, right?
Just sitting here, cluttering the place up, and deteriorating. Should be able to get a few dollars in scrap value form the TD engine and transmission. Sad, as one day these parts be even harder to find. But, not like when I move can take it all with me and hold onto for 50 years. |
I haven't noticed ANYTHING listed for sale by you in the "For Sale" section of this forum. You might try there first before tossing anything. Nobody's psychic, we can't read your thoughts. If you don't list your stuff for sale where someone can find it, don't expect it to be claimed or bought.

Maybe you can help on this too. I would get a bite, respond back, then never hear from them again. |
The last I remember you mentioning selling the parts, you were keeping the engine. Have you decided to sell it? What are you asking for the engine with turbo set-up?

312,000 miles, great compression, 15 plus years of regular service, with a lot of new/rebuilt parts, including the turbocharger with less than 500 miles. S.L.S. was in working condition. What is it worth to you? |

Umm, I appear to have spoken too soon. Mentioned it to the wife and a mutual agreement was that I was not going to start another new project until my final class was completed. 07-27. Sigh. The other option was to fly her out to see her sister for a couple of weeks' vacation. A quick check on finances put the kibosh on that.
Sorry and I wish you good luck selling the stuff. |

Acknowledging that transport might be be a problem, off the top of my head I can think of :
SLS pump Rear hatch door card and interior trim. Third row seat & hardware. Resonator If it works the SLS pumps seem to get good money on e bay. You might see if rebuilt remanufactured mercedes benz automatic transmissions want the transmission. Nevermind, I thought they were in AZ. |
Mayhaps we can work a deal and help Adriel out at the same time. I have no use for the SLS pump. I'm looking for an engine to drop into my '81 CD and I'm not putting in another N.A. OM617.
Whaddya think Adriel? A couple of hundred Yankee dollars for the complete engine? Would you agree to $75 for the pump, Moonbeam? Shipping to you would be about $20 or a little less I'd imagine. I'd yank and pack it. |
Last ditch for selling SLS pumps should be sending them to C&M Hydraulics in Las Vegas. I sent four to them and got $60 each as cores.

Okay, $200 without the S.L.S. head for the non-turbo engine. Will get the crane out after lunch. |
Umm, no. We seem to be having a miscommunication problem.
" I'm looking for an engine to drop into my '81 CD and I'm not putting in another N.A. OM617." I thought you were selling the turbo diesel. "312,000 miles, great compression, 15 plus years of regular service, with a lot of new/rebuilt parts, including the turbocharger with less than 500 miles. S.L.S. was in working condition." |

If going to pull an engine from a wagon was keeping whole, rather just sell it at market value, as it isn't in the way. The front quarter (missing the sunroof) of the TD is in the back garden taking up space (back half is in the corner used as parts storage). Also, lot of the TD parts are on the patio and the furniture is out in the yard. |
Okay, my mistake. I misunderstood you. I thought you were selling the turbo-ed engine. Glad we got it straightened out before you started yanking the engine out.
