Important safety tip...

Trucks are heavy, and one rolling slowly towards you on an incline cannot be stopped by yourself...

I am in pain.

The good news...
Besides I am alive...

My thigh is thick enough to stop a truck from hitting another truck.

Thank goodness both bumpers lined up, and didn't have sharp edges...

I will update this after I get out of the emergency room...

I think I'd have let them crash into each other. Repairing that damage would probably still be cheaper than the ER visit...

Wow, that's crazy. Let us know how you make out. I'd let my cars crash into each other before doing that. I can fix some bumper damage and a grill, but not a broken leg!

No broken bones, nothing serious.

I am definitely going to be off my feet for a few days...

Ok... the story...

I have been given a two post lift.

I have to get it by Sunday from the transmission shop... so... I figured I would use my car trailer to transport it home...

But, I had a ford 4x4 pickup on it... so, I was delivering the truck to the owner, and lined up the trailer where I wanted to unload it, but since it didn't run, I was going to strap it to her other truck and drive out from under it... but the distance was too great.
So, I had my brother back the trailer a smudge closer. Apparently I haven't gotten the truck in park correctly, and it began to roll towards me when he stopped... very slowly, but as it rolled towards me, the trailer started bowing, creating a ramp effect and it was moving too fast for me to stop it by myself, and it drug me backwards and sandwiched me between the two pickups bumpers at the thigh.

I'm pretty bruised, and sore but undamaged.

This is why the parking brake should _ALWAYS_ be set for any parked vehicle.

How did the trucks bumpers make out?

Seriously though. My father got caught between two bumpers many years
ago. No permanent damage but he was home for a few days. Maybe a week as it was so long ago to remember. Sore as hell I think for the first while. He was far from a happy camper over it.

Yikes! Glad to hear this didn't turn out much worse. Must've been rolling slowly, I'd guess.

We deal with tall electrical cabinets at work. They have a very poor base to height ratio and also can be top heavy (center of gravity above the geometric center).

We are told that if for any reason, one of the cabinets starts to tip, get away as fast as you can and let it fall. The cabinet can be rebuilt but you cannot.

Someone in a plant overseas tried to be a hero and catch a 1000 pound cabinet that was falling. It did not end well for him.

Hope things are going ok for you. Glad to see you're getting a lift.

I'm so glad that you don't have any broken bones! I remember that when I was moving to Arizona and moving a trailer that I rented to haul my Universal down from Washington, the handle broke off of the tongue fell down and smashed my foot. I was being proactive and wearing steel toe boots but my foot still took a lot of force.

After driving a 26' box truck pulling my Universal with a medium sized dog and a Great Dane in the cab for 3 days and getting checked into the clinic, I found that I had 4 broken toes and an infected gash wound which later required a trip to the emergency room. I didn't think anything was broken and was really hoping that I would be back on my feet and ready to offload things, but I had to hire movers and take it easy for several months.

So, I am very glad that you didn't have the nasty surprise of having broken bones from this. I imagine you'll still be aching and off your feet for some time until the bones heal from the impact.

On a somewhat related note, one of my uncles was at an airport loading zone and his foot slipped off the brake or something and he pinned an old lady who was unloading between their two cars. I don't know any more details other than he paid her medical bills.

I almost did that to someone today. I was backing into a parking spot (parallel parking) and some fool walked between my car and the car behind me. Fortunately, I saw him and stopped. The call was close enough that I was really upset. I can imagine how much worse I would have felt had I hit that guy. I think he would have needed more than the ER.
