How is everyone recharging their r12 systems? Shop, buying old stock

I havent checked yet, but I believe my ac system is low and needs to be topped off. I don't mind doing it myself but I weary of buying fake r12? Are people buying online? Ebay? Craigslist? Do shops still stock it for recharge?

Not easy, but I have seen R12 available on Craigslist. I think one looks for older cans that are unopened and original. They are not cheap. Shops are hard to find, I'd guess you'd have to find those by word of mouth...

I have been buying 30# jugs as i need them off ebay over the past few years. I only have a couple cars that I service that use r12 so it last a long time.

About four or five years ago I purchased four standard 1 pound cans for $100 from one of the forum members. Might be some out there.

I've seen some on Craigslist, just don't want to buy fake cans.
