Hello All,
Does anyone know the going rate for a timing chain replacement at an independent shop? I have a 1985 W123 300D. Thanks, bsdguy

If that is all that is changed I'd guess two to three hours. But if you need a chain I'd want to check at least all the guides. They're probably pretty worn too.

---don't forget the tensioner and take a look at the cam oiler while you are in there. If you are going to an independent its going to run $800 + depending upon the labor rate and how he re-prices parts.
