Fuel filter message?
Having 2009 Mercedes E320 CDI for the first time I want to know if this car will give any message when need to change fuel filter. It started to have a small amount of Diesel on top of the filter and also smelling Diesel when car is parked.
Any information about it? Thanks

I have a 2008 Bluetec. I can get a check fuel filter message if there is water in the filter. Could be a false alarm due to a faulty sensor (located top center in the filter).
Change filter every 20,000 miles. Leakage is probably one of the two hoses on top of the filter. Loose clamp. |

As DDAY says there is a water in filter alarm. The system does indirectly tell you when to change the filter, it is part of the Service B.
Service A = oil change + mechanical inspection Service B = above plus fuel filter, cabin filter, brake fluid replacement. The recommended change interval for the air filter is 40k/4 yr but I think it ought to be 20/2. Problem is that if you change the air filters it requires adaptation with Xentry. See OM642 service tips
