Yeah those are all still biodiesel. Biodiesel isn't defined by feedstock, it's any transesterified lipid of biological origin suitable for combustion in compression-ignition engines. You can make biodiesel from all those things.

It sounds like the distinction you're making is between waste-manufactured biodiesel and new-manufactured biodiesel from rapeseed or corn oil or what have you. I suspect "renewable" is either marketing or a legal term, not a technical one.

The distinction that I am making is between the process by which it is created. “Renewable Diesel” is something completely different than fatty acid methyesters aka Biodiesel. Both can be made out of the same types of feed stocks But the advanced nature of renewable diesel production allows for much lower quality feed stocks to be used.

The thread title scared me for a minute. I thought it said: Propel diesel no longer available in the USA. Of course, it’s barely available now, I just happen to be living in the right island for it.

There are a couple of bio diesel aka soybean oil plants in Iowa not far from my farm. Locally you can buy a pretty good mix - b15, I believe, in summer and only b5 in winter - if memory serves. Iowa has no emissions testing rules or any of that and not many people anyway, fwiw. I pour a little veggie oil in my old 603 and it seems to make her purr. At least it quiets the injector pump. I assume that lubrication in the older engine is a plus.

I'm sorry that your memory is limited to your imagination. If you read back you'll see you provided no references to your claims, so I was following your level of commitment, which is none.
