87 300d 0-60 time

Got 16.25 seconds. I guess not bad for an old car with over 250k. Deleted the alda which took a few seconds off of it when it was like 20+

Definitely not my twin cam e300s, but I can't expect much for a 12v single cam

What is yours?

Let me know. I'm quite curious. Factory spec is 13 seconds I think. Mine lost some power somewhere along the way. Makes me e300 making 0-60 in 7.5 feel like a rocket.

16 is definitely SLOW. My SDL will do 12.5-13 with the A/C running, under 12 with it off and foot welded to the floor. I'd expect a 124 to be a second or two faster with the same drivetrain.

Yeah, something is up. The 82-84' 300D with the OM617 is 12 seconds. I'd expect that the 603/602 to be a least a second or two quicker.

That's depressing to hear even more.

Wow that's disappoint to hear. I did think this thing is a turtle. I'm scared to merge cause it has no acceleration. I still have to check that wastegate. Other than that no clue.

Actually, factory spec is 8.7 seconds.

Check out GSXR's acceleration spec file here: Index of /docs/mb/other

Shertex-
That file is a little confusing, but I think you accidentally looked up the 0-55 mph time. For a 300D (om603), that file lists a 0-100 km/h as 10.9 seconds. Based on other entries in that file, the 0-100 km/h times are about 0.5 seconds longer than the 0-60 mph, so I would guess the 0-60 mph time was 10.5 seconds.

That's certainly not the case. 10-12 is the best you're going to see out of a stock '87 W124. If you review at the actual results in the link you posted, he's seeing about 11 seconds. The fastest diesel that year was the 190DT, which was just under 10 seconds.

You're right...my mistake.

Interestingly, one of the SDLs I owned could do 0-60 in 9.5 seconds. ALDA removed, transmission perfectly adjusted by Brian Carlton.

That's amazing that a heavy SDL could do that. I've been having a hard time finding the proper adjustment procedure for the trans. I'm not sure if I should tighten it all the way and drive it and adjust it til it's correct.

I have no idea exactly what he did...but I guess when you balance jet engines for a living you're able to do things that we mere mortals can't.

Miss that car....

Okay. Mine pulled a 14.4 short shifting. Ill adjust the shift points and retest.

Down to a 13.4 manually shifting it.

Brian Carlton was a smart guy and gave great advice on the forums. I wonder where he's at now. That's a he'll of a job.

Dubyagee.. That's not bad man. I need to get mine there. I have no acceleration or passing power. How is yours in that department?
