Am I evil for this?

So my brother's girlfriend came over while I'm outside cleaning the car. IMMEDIATELY the first thing I hear is lifter noise. Mind you she lives miles away, engine is warm, which means her oil is running low. This is the 2nd time I know of she's done this. I heard the exact symptom a few months ago and it was low on oil and I topped it off for her.

Now i'm think to myself "You know what, I'm not saving it again, I want to see it seize up so she can learn a lesson."

My brother walks outside and I was hoping he didn't notice it and he didn't!

As nicely and gingerly as I could I often ask her to change her oil (brake, coolant, and trans fluid are DONE as well) and she just gets mad at me. I ask her what's the first thing she wants to fix and she says windshield and driver side window (it's off track)

Am evil for letting the car have a slow demise? The car she had previously she ran it into the ground as well.

If she doesn't care about her car, why should you? You helped her once, she doesn't care, so why worry about it? She'll kill the car, not learn from it, then go on to kill another then another after that...

Her car isn't your problem. I wouldn't waste any time on it, if she wants to blow it up let her. Maintaining someone else's car isn't your responsibility. Unless you're getting paid to do it, who gives a **** as long as it isn't your car.

After her car blows up, make sure you decline to look at/fix it.

Lowest engine oil while the car was actually still driving would have to be a car me and some friends witnessed while on the freeway here in Houston ,an old man in his old stationwagon oblivious to everyone trying to get his attention ,his vehicle was plumming a smoke trail miles ahead ,this much like you would see from a steam locomotive ,it was late in the evening and when we got along side the car the underneath was glowing from the exhaust being cherry red hot .If she reaches this point you can say something , something about the weather being hot.

You likely won't have to deal with her long. Just hope your brother doesn't get married to her. Guys lose their mind chasing slick spots.

What kind of car? I would hate to see her destroy a car to cherish - say 1963 split-window Corvette or Austin-Healy. If a basic 1990's Chevy or Honda beater, let her learn (or not). It seems that to some women (wives?), car problems are men's scheme to torment them. Everything should just work and never need changing. Same attitude from Nancy-boys and teenagers.

My rule of thumb, 'If you have to ask if something is right or wrong it's wrong. If you feel guilty after doing something, or in this case not doing it then you've made the wrong decision.'

x2. Nothing wrong to give her a gentle reminder but stop short of doing the work yourself. Hope she will get it, repeat if necessary,

Agree. One would expect a brother to understand the value oil has to the life on an engine. If anyone is responsible to the girl it's a husband, father, brother or boyfriend.

You guys are absolutely hilarious and insightful. The car is just a Saturn SL2, nothing special I'll tell my brother to relay the info to her.

Oh I don't think you can kill those, a friend of mine bought one for $500 and didn't change the oil for something like 60k miles. He finally felt bad about it, then crashed it the day after doing an oil change.

It's not your car young man and the cost of repairing or replacing it won't come out of your pocket. This is entertaining if you hear your mother saying it in your head.

TL;DR You asked
