Coco mats are made in South Carolina just about 100 miles away from where I live. I bought a set and they are fantastic. You pay a premium for quality workmanship and top notch materials. The mats are super thick, heavy and durable. When you make a purchase you're sort of casting a vote for what you want. When you buy Chinese junk for $.99 you support that model of production and quality.

I'm all for making things yourself. I did my own rear seat and headliner. I think the idea of making floor mats is great, but you wouldn't spend and afternoon making mats with quality materials and then sell them for $5.

I don’t disagree with you and if id just spent 30k on a newer car I wouldn’t have an issue. In this case however, $300 (a possible 10% of the total value) can go much farther in so many other areas first. Im going to attempt the DIY with nice materials and see what happens

Sorry, I assumed "coco" referred to a material. Misspelled - should be "Coco" (yes, gamers - proper nouns still capitalized), though it does use coconut fibers. Link https://www.cocomats.com/coco/ .
I could see Tesla-ites springing $650 for a complete set, since they are already out there.

I put a set of these in my car;

Coco Mats - Custom Car, Truck, Van Floor Mats

Good quality, not quite as much as the others.

Totally agree. They are super pricey but the quality and look cannot be matched. Worth every penny.
