190d 2.5turbo what's it worth question

i am probably going to sell my 87 190d2.5td. I would like some opinions on it's value range.

here are some specifics-
odo says 230k but it never worked
no air
the transmission shifts hard because there is no vacuum coming from the UFO
but there is vacuum to the UFO
no rust (southern car)
plenty of tread on the tires
transmission service was done last year
some easy to fix dents on the sides
windows work
sheepskins on the front. no tears on the mb tex otherwise
the car is pretty fast for a diesel. i've clocked it at 10sec 0-60
i just changed the zerex coolant and tstat last month
rotella T6 oil changes every 1/1 and 7/1
Mann oil, fuel filters
I rebuilt the front end so all the rubber in the front is new.
I would not hesitate to drive the car cross country right now.

I am considering selling it because i acquired a 93 300d 2.5td WITH air! I'm too practical to care for 2 cars.

Has anyone sold a car on Ebay? any pros and cons? Thanks for your opinions folks. I will post a pic later.

If you want to hang on to it for awhile $2,000, quick sale maybe $1,250. Just my 0.02.

Bypass the BFS for now. Run a line from the VCV to the modulator.

You likely have a vacuum leak somewhere. It's better to fix than to 'simplify'. If the BUFO itself is NFG, it's easy enough to replace.

A problem with air can be a big thing (like a condenser) or a little thing like an o-ring. Does the heat work correctly, or does it just blast hot.

The going price for a 190TD is far more than $2000. The last decent one I saw was $5K. It had non-working A/C and some other funky stuff.

Was this the same car that was in the flood?

Fix the vacuum leaks and clean it up nice and list it for $3500. Sit on it for awhile, some diesel junkie will buy it.

yeah. as a compliment to the MB engineers, the only thing that got fried was the voltage regulator. also, as a responsible owner, i took out all the seats and carpet to avoid any mold issues.

i might explore the ebay route. maybe i will find the diesel junkie there.

thanks Sixto, I will sell it there.

it will be interesting because all the 190's that have sold there are gassers.

this will be an especially unique diesel offering.
I will get it detailed this week and snap some pictures.

I'd love to see pics! (especially since I'm only a 25 min drive from you)

Maybe. Try to find a solid one for less. Most have more holes than metal, and/or have been hopelessly abused.
