Looking for a w210 diesel underside picture

Going to do a 3" turbo back when i send my ECU in for upgrades. Was hoping to avoid crawling under the car today to get an idea of exhaust routing before i order piping from columbia river.

Why? The factory exhaust flows really well, it may even be 3" already. Look up some youtube videos from dieselpumpuk where they are getting huge power out of these engines. There is one where they talk about the stock exhaust and how well it works. IIRC stock exhaust is good for ~450 hp, which you'll never even come close to with the stock turbo and stock injection pump. Exhaust is the very last thing that needs upgrading on these cars.

I want it to be loud and sound like a diesel. This car is a toy to me.

I tried loud exhaust, cool at first, then it got old as I left the neighborhood. Also, OM606 and OM603 already sound JUST like gassers stock straight piped or when modified.

For instance.

Are we talking about a turbo or NA? The turbo is a very effective muffler on its own.

Ehhh, no. It's not 3" and it's very restrictive especially with the catalyst still in place.

Ever hooked up a pressure gauge to the exhaust pipe between the turbo and catalyst? Give it a try some time then come back with your bad info.

The stock exhaust is like a 2.5" at best I think. I removed the old exhaust and installed a 3" pipe with a Flowmaster high flow trap oxidizer and a brabus muffler. Sounds really great now.

I'm not talking about the catalyst. I'm talking about the exhaust tubing, you know that metal pipe that runs the length of the vehicle. You claimed it was "very restrictive". Your words, not mine. That is plain incorrect. Ergo, you have bad info.

You may not be familiar, but most performance tuners remove the catalyst or replace it with a higher flowing one. Most tuners also replace the turbo with a larger one, and the injection pump with larger elements. And all of these together can produce prodigious amounts of power using the factory stock exhaust tubing.
