Does anyone favor the sears vacuum pump? I found out yesterday from PP, that the plastic lines are NA. They still have the hose & the t's & y connections.

The plastic lines are still available, they're just not color coded. Never ever re-use the rubber fittings, if you find any that look questionable (soft, torn, cracked, mushy) replace every one of them you can get your hands on. They're cheap enough to do and can save your sanity.
