My 1985 300CD has the optional security alarm system. As part of that, the turning rod that fits between the driver's door grip/handle and the locking mechanism in the door has this really peculiar electronic switch that is no longer available. My existing rod is shot.

I'm looking for a replacement turning rod that looks just like the one in the picture here. It isn't side-specific and I believe, is commonly used on the W123s. With tens of thousands of W123s produced, surely someone has an old one? I hope.

I don't know the part number because my EPCnet subscription has expired and M-B is doing maintenance on that system until Dec. 17th and subscriptions can't be renewed. Ugh.

So, if anyone has an old one of these that they'd part with, I'll gratefully purchase it from you.

If anyone can suggest a recycling source for an old one of these, again, I'd appreciate it.
