signal marker lamps on but won't flash

1987 300SDL

Today a new gremlin shows up:

Turn signal & hazards is the lesson of the day- the actual lamp will come on- steadily but not flashing.

The indicator on the dash also just remains illuminated and doesn't flash.

Is it the silly relay? And is it the black box directly behind the instrument cluster?

Post Turn Signals

If the out side lamps fore and aft illuminate, chances are it's the relay proper, sone times you can smack it with the plastic handle of a screw driver to shock it back into operation, if this works at least you know what part it needs .

I've taken the older relays apart and burnished the contacts therein to return them to as new service but yours may be fully transistorized....

Post a pic. of the relay and someone here will surely have an affordable used one for you.....
