This is what I use in everything except pre-1965 Citroen hydraulic systems. All the Benzes, Volvos, GMs etc:
Available through Amazon or any aviation supply. Sky geek sells it for $5.93/quart or less if you buy the gallon size.

I use Amazon for the free shipping since I have a fleet to maintain. The MSDS shows that this is compatible with the Benz standard, in fact, it far exceeds it. It also makes the PS pump a little quieter FWIW. I change this and filter every 10,000 miles, which is probably excessive.
  • Phillips 66 X/C 5606H Aviation Hydraulic Fluid is formulated to provide protection under severe-duty applications.
  • Phillips 66 X/C 5606H Aviation Hydraulic Fluid meets military specifications for use where "super clean" hydraulic fluid is desired.
  • Filtered and hermetically sealed, Phillips 66 X/C 5606H Aviation Hydraulic Fluid is excellent for use where "super clean" fluid can help prolong service life and reliability.
  • Phillips 66 X/C 5606H Aviation Hydraulic Fluid is red-dyed, mineral-based fluid.

NICE. Im going to get a quart of it and swap out the dexron fluid in a toyota, It looks super great as it has very good pumpability in cold too.

I wonder if it works good in Honda too.

If you look up the MSDS (material safety data specs) it will tell you.

I look at the actual specs which they give, so you can compare it to the Honda or whatever brand Honda sponsors and uses.

I did, its specced very close to pentosin CHF11. nearly the same stuff GM calls their frigid area power steer fluid. Any fluid that remains very fluid at -40C is pretty good for hydraulics. The 100C spec is not too promising as its 5cst, while regular ATF and PSF is usually 8 or 10cst, but those oils degrade rather fast and end up as 5cst anyway.

let see what it does in the toyota power steering. Its pretty decent with citgo quatrasyn ATF right now.
