What is this line called?

I need help identifying a part in my 1984 Mercedes 300 diesel sedan. My trans line cooler snapped in half recently which cause the transmission to vomit fluid to the ground. I lost about a quart or so. For now I connected a hose in between the remaining lines and clamped both ends with clamps. It seems to be really holding well right now but I want to replace the part.

Here is how it looks like

Who sells this part?

Transmission cooling hose. Replace both. Part number is: 019-997-80-82-M20 here on the pelican parts site.

Modern version looks like this:
The spring is to protect it from road debris/an engine belt snapping.

I can't see the picture. If what you did us cut off the crimped collar and replaced that with hose it ought to be just fine. As long as you used Oil/Transmission Cooler Hose.

The originals hoses had not spring on them and worked just fine on mine and in fact the originals never leaked. At one time the Transmission Cooler Hoses were about $9 and I bought them and replaced them so I would not have a leak as you did due to their age.

You're lucky you have a rwd car, this is a easy job.

I highly recommend you use two flare nut wrenches, if you use one wrench you'll twist the line.

RWD forever.
