W123 Front Windshield Sunshade??

Can anyone recommend a good front windshield sunshade for my 1981 300d sedan?

I just purchased one that was supposedly custom made to fit my exact car but it fits terribly and doesn't even come close. I'm talking really bad. I've searched the forum but I'm mostly finding info about rear window shades but not much about front windshield shades. Anyone here have one that fits correctly that they can recommend?

Thanks!

Have you tried the Covercraft UVS100, by chance?

I purchased one from https://eclipsesunshades.net/ 7 years ago and have been VERY pleased with it. They open and close instantly, so I no longer have to decide if it's worth putting it up just to go into a store for a few minutes. Using the conventional style sun shades that have to be set up and folded up and then put back into place would drive me insane.

I have not. They're a little pricey but probably willing to go for it if it fits properly. Thanks for the heads up!

This is an interesting option. I do love the idea of not having to fold and unfold a conventional sunshade but I'm not so sure I would love having the shades stored permanently on the sides of the windshield when not in use. Hmm, this option gives me something to think about. Thanks for the input!

I put one in my W124 about a month ago. VERY. HANDY. When stored, there's no loss of visibility.

Now the SAC wants one for her Honda...

My other concern is that it might not cover enough of the dashboard. My dashboard is in great shape but I just noticed a tiny little crack where the dashboard meets the windshield. It's a small crack and it's deep down there in the crevice so it's not the end of the world but I want a sunshade that I can really shove down there to help protect it as much as possible. It might not do much but I figure it's worth a shot.

Anyone else have any suggestions before I pull the trigger on one of the options above?

You're right about the Eclipse sun shade not covering the full dash, but I have a dash cover on mine so it's not an issue.

I considered getting a dash cover for mine and I'm sure it's the smart thing to do but.... other than that tiny crack, my dashboard looks great so I want to show it off while it still looks good. Ha ha!

But without cover, you won't have the pleasure of driving your co-workers to lunch while they admire your pimpin' velour dash!

I bought one of the zig-zag folding ones made out of thin closed-cell foam and coated with aluminized mylar for under $10 at Ross or TJ Maxx. It works fine. I acknowledge that it is a hassle to put up and take down everytime I get out of the car to do an errand. I also have a DashMat dash cover.
