This is an unsolicited endorsement for Kris Rose who took in both parts of the C.C. off my 1982 240D, it hasn't worked since I bought the car well over twenty years ago and I finally decided to get it going and sent him off my old C.C.O. and actuator .
It turns out the actuator was fried internally so he built up another . I installed both parts, replaced the LED stop lamp bulbs with incandescents and took a test drive and Lo ! . Not only does it work, it works far smoother than the original un repaired one on my '84 ~ when you initially actuate it it cuts in *very* smoothly and gently gathers speed until it's at the speed you chose . Using the acceleration or deceleration modes it's also nice and smooth and when you use the resume feature after touching the brakes, it re engages smoothly and gently climbs back to the previous speed, the original one is always a bit jerky so I'll be seeding him those next . Hopefully he'll also do the tempomat box as it's untouched as well, might as well go whole hog and make every thing "Just So" . I wonder if he could re capacitor the 1960's Bendix AM car radios I have.....
