Annular Axle seeping

Routine inspection, found a thin coating of grease emanating from here (cleaned up a bit for photo):

Boots are good, flange seal is good. Only thing I can think of is the allen bolts here need some tightening. Found this in the FSM:

I don't understand the "threads and bolt head surfaces oiled."
My understanding is that these bolts need loctite?

Plan is to remove, clean, loctite and reinstall one by one until I'm done.

Anyone had this issue?

since your axles are not stock I believe you should have rtv between the axle and the flange because I don't see a cap at the end (stock annular axles have a cap on the end)

threads are oiled so that you get better tension with this torque value.

I appreciate it.

So no loctite? Would have thought a high rpm item like that would almost certainly have something protecting it from vibration.

Maybe RTV was the way to go. Odd though, as I've had it on for about a year and it's only begun giving me grief now.

I know there are a few boys on the forum who've installed this DSS axle... thoughts?

Since some people have had their annular axles come apart I would opt for degreased threads with Loctite on the and a single torque on them.
The question is if the aftermarket axle bolts use the same torque as the stock ones.

I agree. Degrease, loctite and torque. No oil.

Thanks guys.

These are m10 bolts so it would seem my torque value should be 70nm.
I rang the company, but still waiting to hear back...

Each bolt was a hair tighter than finger tight. Pretty scary…
If you have an annular axle, I’d keep a weather eye on these guys.

Yep.

Unfortunately, I didn't install this side myself so cannot say one way or another whether the bolts were torqued to spec.
That said, 70nm is a fair amount...
