How many 05/06 CDI's were sold in USA?

Does anyone know how many OM648 motor/CDIs were sold in the 2 years it ran?

I like my 1st (and most people here - suggest this OM648 - to be one of best/last great trouble free diesels)

I’m not looking for a project. I’m fine with doing ongoing mantinence and repairs but I would prefere to get something that is currently fully or close to fully sorted. Looks like lower mile examples are in the 7-9K range. I’d pay that much if for the right one.

Currently 11 for sale on Autotrader so they're not exactly rare. The market is on to you guys so they've jacked up the prices accordingly. I still don't see the point of paying 2-3x the price of a gasser for the privilage of paying more for maintainance and fuel.
