Most if not all 240d drivers are well aquainted with the pedal to the metal position. That is how I drove them as well all too frequently. You pretty much have to. If you want a little more power check posts on altering the relief valve spring on the injection pump.
You may not believe this but at moderate speeds you do not want to do this on the wives current diesel. It has 260 foot pounds of torque at 1500 Rpm. That launches the tires and the car tracks sideways a little. Amazing power but possibly expensive engine to maintain.
If I live long enough I will once again drive a 240d.
