Ether/wd 40 hard starting diesel substitute

Some air got in my fuel system. Via rotten o rings on delivery valves.
I found a great way to help the engine start.
Any guesses?

Hint: it's completely engine safe and environmentally friendly.
You probably already have it.

On another note if they made a additive for diesel that
would make the exhaust smell like cooked bacon, that would be great.

That's awesome, I wonder if any cooking spray works or if PAM is an extra volatile formula.

I've heard another trick is a hairdryer into the intake if glow plugs aren't working

Any cooking spray which uses a blend of propane and butane as a propellant works. The propane/butane mix is the cause of the ignition of the fuel mixture.

I'd be wary of introducing too much into the intake. That being said, the cooking spray is probably a better choice of a starting aid than the use of WD40 or an ether based spray.

huh, I didn't even think of the propellant. I guess its the perfect combination of propellant and oil/fuel.

rather than a hair dryer, you need a heat gun. The hair dryers are all made to be super safe and not hurt your delicate skin.

The heat guns soften layers of paint and other substances, so they will transfer heat but you have to leave them running for about ten-twenty minutes to be effective.

I watches whunter do this in his driveway with a Ford diesel ambulance many times during one winter.

I stay away from ether in these circumstances, but WD40 will work too.

Get a spray can that does not have propellant, warm it in hot water to about 80 degrees, have someone start the engine and start spraying.

Usually this works.
