Scammer on the lose ?

I have an ad up for parts wanted to do a manual trans conversion ( I have most of the stuff now) and had been getting pm's from Tom35 to text him, he claims he has parts. He has zero post and just joined so I did not respond. Now I just got a pm from TMY same deal just joined and zero post and the same message with the same text number as Tom35. Sorry Tom35 or TMY or whoever you are you're not getting my money.

Welcome to how this forum works now. The mods absolutely DO NOT CARE. If anyone with a low or zero post count contacts you and wants you to email or text, immediately block them and report to the forum mods.

They won't do anything, but maybe they'll finally get sick enough of us reporting these scumbags that they'll set up some of the built-in security measures that the V-Bulletin software running this forum offers.

Hey. Call Tom W. or Insidious. They have no earthly clue what the issue is. Get them to help broker the buy. I’m sure those two will be super helpful. Now, back to the planet earth. I would be super cautious. Personally I would never ever send money to a brand new member who just happens to have your part. Better yet , I know a buddy who has your part so contact them BS.

I had one contact me via PM saying they had a part for sale that I was looking for. I wasn't looking for a part. I simply responded to a post in a thread about a part and I guess the scammer didn't understand English enough to know I wasn't looking for a part. Same zero posts with a link to an e-mail address. The big dummy is banned now.

Yeah I've noticed them crawling on this forum aswell when I was looking to buy a brake booster I had people with odd generated looking usernames pmming that they had the part, but they wouldn't go any further answering questions on the condition of the booster

That’s really awful. I’m still very happy with the injection test set you sold me last year. I was going to sell it off again on the forum but I decided it was a keeper since I have two turbodiesels.

That’s the way things should work but I guess it isn’t a perfect world out there. What a derpy way to make money...scamming mb diesel people. He ain’t getting rich doing that.

A couple guys contacted me about an alternator bracket I was after.
Same guy I suspect. Only this time he actually bothered finding a not so obvious image of the bracket he claimed was for sale. I eventually found it on a blog post from 2009.
Points for effort...
