Fuel Gauge

On a 2008 E320 Bluetec, other than using an OBD, is there a way to know which of the two sending unit inside the fuel tank is not working?
My dashboard fuel gauge is not showing how much fuel is there in the tank and according to my searches can be one of the two sending units not working but the OBD is showing me nothing about it.
The two units are identified as: Left and Right.
Any idea about this?
