W140 s350

Came across a really nice 94 s350. Owner says it doesn’t burn oil and never had engine work or replaced. 160k miles. Is this something that is past the rod bending rebuild? Or is it still a time bomb?

Check the engine for the replacement tag.

My '91 350SD has the original engine in it. Uses no oil, no weird noises, and runs smooth as glass. The 97x engines either seemed to die early or go on forever.

W140 has other "time bombs" besides the rod bender:
Cable harness, electronics, climate control, evaporator...

I’m no stranger to A 90s Mercedes. The other things don’t scare me.

The dealer will tell you if the engine was replaced under warranty if you have the VIN. The last one I looked at the engine had been replaced at 80k. I have actually been looking for one of those too, if you don't end up buying it I might be interested depending on price.

Apparently I’m asking too many questions to the owners. They stopped responding. The car is a lil drive away for me to just check out. Since they don’t want to get into the details that, makes me not interested anymore.

The dog is probably the prettiest and most reliable thing in that picture
