Hey folks! I purchased a 1992 300SD. It has a remanufactured engine and a recently rebuilt transmission. It looks decent and runs very well. I’m sorting out some “engineering” that was done by the previous owner. At some point the oil pressure sending unit may have gone out. Not sure. Anyway, the wiring (pigtail lead) for the sending unit is gone. There’s a bundled cable that runs past the oil filter housing. It’s the wiring for the starter. There are three smaller wires that come out of that larger cable bundle. One goes to the oil level sensor. One seems to be going to the small terminal on the starter. There’s one wire that is missing it’s insulation and isn’t connected to anything. It’s a single wire. The oil pressure sending unit has a two prong connection. Can anyone tell me if that one wire is part of the connection for the oil pressure sending unit?
Sorry for the quality of the pic. It’s also zoomed in too close, but I think you can see the three wires in speaking of. Thanks!
