What about Kent & liqui moly and vegetable oil

Is this even worth considering? If so, under what conditions?

Absolutely not. I did this myself shortly before my SDL got totalled. My car had somewhat low compression and used oil due to slick cylinder walls (no telling how many miles were on that engine). While the smoke stopped and the engine quieted down while on the "veggie cleanse", as soon as it worked that crap out of the fuel system and ran on diesel again, it was "business as usual". No difference. No "magic in a can" will ever fix your car. Seriously don't waste your time. Sometimes Kent has good suggestions or information, this is a good example where he doesn't.

Strange. I did this for a couple tanks and it had a similar affect as a 1 can diesel purge. The car still runs smoother than it did before.

Liqui-Moly Diesel Purge mixed 50/50 with diesel fuel.

I've noticed how quiet my engine runs on both vegetable oil and Diesel Purge, but it always returns back to normal later.

I'm not sure about that his jug turned black.

SVO effectively retards the timing, doesn't go bang as fast.

If you look at the vid, he removes 1 pintw of vegi oil and adds back 1 pint total 50/50 Liqui-moly semi synthetic 10-40 and diesel fuel.

It looks like 1/2 gallon of veggi oil judging by the size of the veggi jar.

It could be Liqui-Moly's Oil Additiv that he uses, I haven't used Diesel Purge in awhile because I think it's over-hyped so I forget what color it is. Oil Additiv is definitely dark like that though. He seems unclear on that.

In the video starting at 3:15 he clearly says the pint mixture is "Half moly oil additive and half diesel".
I did it last summer, made no difference.

If you just do the straight Purge and use the clear plastic bottle deal as your make-shift fuel tank, you can see the junk which is being cleaned from your IP, et cet. A majority of the purge is channeled back through the return line, and back into the clear plastic container. I have done this on numerous cars, and sometimes you will see a lot of junk cycled back which indicates you are cleaning something. Sometimes the purge remains clear which indicates to me you are not cleaning out anything.

I can tell you WVO does not clean out anything. It leaves behind "junk" to some degree no matter what you do. I doubt the purge would clean out any residual WVO either. Whatever WVO is left behind will eventually be cleaned out by diesel. Now, I am not saying one cannot run WVO successfully. Rather, burning WVO does leave behind junk which you have to be careful about. It is the chemistry of WVO and in particular burning WVO.

I would be interested to see if dried up WVO dissolves in Diesel Purge? PhillyTwoTank did some experiments to see what melts away WVO and I highly doubt Purge behaves like lye and methanol.

I've read stories about people picking up WVO from restaurants only to find someone in the restaurant had either deliberately or accidentally added acidic cleaning chemicals to the WVO. Subsequently, these cleaning chemicals ended up destroying what was formerly a very nice 617 diesel engine.

Are we equating the new, store bought veggie oil with WVO?

Also, my understanding from the vid is that the oil was 10w-40 with moly included. I haven't explored WVO and probably won't unless diesel becomes NLA which means that's a subject I'm ignorant of.

New vegetable oil and used vegetable oil aren't the same thing at all. He mentions in the video all the crap you can find in WVO and why you need to be careful. WVO isn't even part of this discussion, which is one that can run on for 10 pages easily.

I've watched the video 3 times and hear no mention of 10w-40. He repeatedly says "high moly additive" and "oil additive."

I say...
