Are my strut mounts toast?

I'm chasing down a ride quality issue on this W124. I feel it rides a bit harsh. I look at my strut mounts today and they look fine at first glance but a closer look through the holes I see some cracking. Is this normal??

Hard to tell from the pictures, but if the rubber in the mount has excessive cracking or has separated from any of the metal parts, it's time for replacement.

They look bad to me. New ones make a big difference, change it before it breaks and dents the hood.

Good luck!!!

It looks fine from the top, albeit a bit dry from age. No cracks at the top where they typically give way in pics online.

The cracks can be seen inside the holes. Not sure if it is rubber mold flash. Been trying to figure out from pics how the plates and rubber go together. I did poke the cracked area and it is hard so probably has metal underneath.

I will probably change it out one of these days just from it looking so dried out but am wondering if it's supposed to be solid in there.
