Is it safe to use Simple Green on tires?

As I'm sure some of you are aware, I recently drove through hot asphalt which then stuck on one of my tires. Question, is it safe to use Simple Green cleaner on tires and will it take off the sticky, gooey asphalt?

It definitely won't hurt anything, but I don't think it'll remove tar. I think you'd need to use linseed oil. That definitely gets it off other surfaces and is safe for tires as well.

I'm sure most oils will take it off, you just gotta make sure it's safe for tires. Linseed oil is one that I know is. Try mineral oil, I know people use it as a tire shine so it's safe. It'll help a lot if you can scrape off as much as you can first. Use a hair dryer to get it soft if needed.
