External Blow By "of sorts"
This came about a while back and hasn't gotten better (of course). Noted a smell in the cabin and 1st changed the oil breather assembly.
This is another matter. No codes, car is a 2006 OM648 and still runs like a scared rat with 208,000 miles on it. What's been difficult is to find a schematic that shows the o-rings and gaskets. Appreciate any and all input. Bought it new and it's been a great car. Unfortunately, my expertise is in another German car. Here are the offending areas. |

Not familiar with the OM648 but, in general, MB uses fairly standardized O-ring sizes in their forced induction systems, meaning it's probably the same size as one of the o-rings in the intake pipe connections. From what I can recall on the OM617, 603 and 642, there are 2 sizes of "green" orings, small and large, I have found them to also be the same between engines, having used 617 o-rings on a 603 etc.
