Maybe it would be possible to drop the oil pan and start disconnecting rods and pulling bearings until the crank can turn or worst case take the crank and TC out as a unit and disassemble on the bench. ??? I've not opened one of these to say for sure it that is possible.

Pretty sure they're different, But I've got one out of an 82 300D that I converted to 4 speed manual, sitting in my garage last I knew.
Car was driven to pick up the 4spd stuff, TN to PA and back, then pulled. Does have somewhere around 200k miles on it, but if it would work for you, its free lol I think 617 with 722.3 is going to be different than 602 with 722.4 though.

Just thinking out loud, I'm not sure even removing all the main bearings and rod caps would let you pull the crankshaft out laterally because the snout of the torque converter fits in the end of the crankshaft and the other end of the torque converter is tight in the tranny oil pump. I don't think you can slide the crankshaft axially forward since it fits fairly tight in the block. You will probably have to disconnect all the rods and beat the pistons out of the block. They are aluminum so will at least fall apart if you beat them hard enough. Then you can turn the crankshaft.
To rebuild the block, lookup my post. The thin cast-iron liners break out fairly easy if you drive a screwdriver between liner and block. Hope you can still buy new liners ($11 ea when I bought). New turbo pistons may be "not avail", so need good used ones. Hone and mill the new liners at a machine shop.

Problem solved. With the fourth of many feet of breaker bar was able to turn the engine a little bit. Once it turned a couple of times it actually got a little easier to turn and I was able to get the old converter off
