Valve Adjustment diagram
There's a nifty valve adjustment diagram, and I swear I saw a wiki article that I cant seem to find at the moment. +1's to anybody that can shoot me a quick link to the diagram and/or instructions (done valve adjustments on my 914 many times though -- hey pelican parts!) before the sun goes down :/
I'm not lazy BTW. I tried searching for the terms "valve adjustment" and got all kinds of stuff

The attachment may help, the full file is too big for the site, PM me if you'd like it.

Ended up getting to the valves and realizing that I lacked the fancy wrenches I would need to complete the job, and I didn't know if I was able to take off the delivery lines to get my regular wrenches in there. Finally after some searching for the missing 13mm bolt I lost somewhere between the IP and the engine (which i fished out) I was able to button it back together.
Next time though, i'm doing those valves. If I am able to temporarily remove the delivery lines to adjust valves, let me know. It sure is cramped in there with the metal lines in the way, and without removing the air cleaner, its not really easy to adjust them from the other side.....and I also remember reading only turn the power steering pump clockwise and not counter-clockwise, but the engine got impossible to turn. I'll figure it out. Usually if I see/watch/read about the steps to doing something once, I'm golden....

I picked up a set of the bent wrenches, makes all the difference. Lot's of people have them for sale, Goggle "valve adjustment wrenches mercedes" Plus picked up a some cans of the diesel purge while I was at it... Done adjustments 4 times now, and while be going back to redo my first one cause I'm much better at it now. It does take a little practice.

Removing the metal lines are the way to go, 17 mm open end socket. MB has a special wrench, of course.
