98 Mercedes E300TD - fuel problems
Wiith my 98 Mercedes E300TD I have at times low or not much power output - and when eng almost dies it smoking mostly white with a little grayish tinge smoke which indicates unburned fuel - some days it seems to run fine then the other day it did get above 100 degrees and it started iradically acting like it didn't want to go.
With my pocket OBDII blue driver linkked to cell phone I get a SOV fault but have changed out SOV twice now onece with Bosch and lastley MB part - also I have replaced the fuel tank screen or strainer, all rubber and clear fuel lines with MB O-rings along with fuel filter housing and filters with injection pump delivery valve viton seals. At one point another forum member posted "Shutoff Valve problems on my E300" had what seems to be like minded problem and said "Local indy, one step above a shadetree, had a piece of software that would read the codes my scanner would not. His investigation found a "driver error" in the egnine control module. Had the module reprogrammed and presto I had a new care again!" In trying to figure this out - would there be an exhaustive diagnostic scanner for E300s that I can buy without paying an exorbant anount? If it comes down to a 'driver error' where can I get my ECM reprogramed? A 024 545 11 32 And if I buy a the ECU like my part number of A 024 545 11 32 off eBay will that be a plug and play or will I need to get it programed so that my ignition/key will start engine? |
