My once dead battery still lives!
Some of you may recall our discussion last year when I must have left the courtesy light on for a week or so when I was working on a scraping noise! Battery ended up completely dead (0.89V)
This thread starting about post #11. Well the battery recovered and is still in service! We have had one of the coldest Januarys I can remember. Overnight temperatures of -23C several days in a row several times. My 300D is in an outdoor enclosed and unheated garage which helps. I have no block or battery heater. With Covid and other car available, I haven't needed to drive the diesel much. But about once a week I do. I make sure I drive for about 1/2hr at least. So far the car has started first shot every time. Battery seems strong. Haven't and any need to re-charge. I guess I dodged a bullet. Battery is old, but no sign of needing replacement yet. Current winter usage is as bad as it gets other than having car stored outdoors. Anyway, just wanted to conclude the story ![]()
