plug for brake lines

When removing calipers or flexible brake lines, either the end of the flex line or the end of the hard line needs plugging.

Being a golfer, I always have golf tees handy and have used those. But they really are too big, so always have to sand them down. I am about do do this, so thinking about a better way. Any good ideas? Maybe look in wife's sewing supplies?? Plastic knitting needles? Rubber plugs would be best.

Picture borrowed from site we can't mention

I think I tried that on fronts, but for some reason it didn't work. Maybe the shape of the caps. Where is the end of the hard line once you undo the upper union nut? Does the cap fit up above the bracket? Or can you push it on from below?

By the way, I am just procrastinating. Lousy day here and don't really want to head out and work on car

OK, I found something in my parts that I must have made up years ago. This will do the job at either end.

I know the feeling!

I'm not sure I understand your question though... I remember pushing it on from below though not certain re: union. Honestly though, it was a fool's errand (for me at least). I ended up flushing the reservoir anyway, and probably, as I should have from the beginning.

The clutch slave on the other hand... that nipple plug makes life a lot easier if you need to swap that part out.

I never worry about that few drips which might spill. I will bleed it in any case so not much of anything there to save.

This is true and likely what I have done many times. I did recently buy a shallow oil pan that I now locate under the brakes when working on them. Mainly so I can wash down before working on them. It also catches things I drop
