W124 Wires to Washer Pump

As my washer pump connector is shot and the wiring harness is NLA, I will need to connect the wires directly to the pump. When I pull apart the harness I see three wires: two that are brown and one that is yellow and purple. Am I correct to assume that I would connect both brown wires to one pole and the yellow and purple one to the other? I'm a bit confused by there being two brown wires.

Yes
Confirm the brown wires are to ground.
Do you have one pump or two For headlight washer?

When I got the car back in 2009 the headlight wipers had been removed...so maybe washer system removed with that.

Most likely. The washer bottle should have 2 detents, one for each pump. Each pump has 2 poles, Brown ground wire and colored supply. Not sure where or if the browns are combined or separate in the harness, but the otger lead wire may have been deleted with the headlamp washer delete.

I deleted my lamp washers as well, but had to plug the bottle and left the connector there as well as the spare pump inverted to have a spare for the main washer pump,

Good luck

When I removed the connector it literally pulled one of the poles out of the pump. So I'll order a new pump.

What's the best way to connect the leads to the pump poles?

If you get a MB OE style pump with the round pin connectors, you may need to source some used connectors from a junk yard. Most Mercedes from the 1980-90s used the same washer pump and connectors. You could also source single pin connectors from the yard or new and use them on each lead. Mark the poles.

Most new aftermarket pumps will be spade connections, so in your case fairly easy. Use dielectric grease on the connections and you should be fine.

Hey, shertex!

I have a lightly wrecked '94 S124 with headlamp washer/wipers that I'm meaning to part/scrap, and I'd be happy to send however much or little of the washer system you can use if you cover the cost of shipping. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Best Regards,
Rob
