Lubricant for parking brake parts
I’m going to replace the rear hoses, calipers, pads, and rotors on my second (new) 91 350SD. The calipers are totally seized.
I want to lube up the parking brake assembly while at it. It seems like the right product for the run points and star wheel may be silver anti seize but I’m not 100% sure. What do you use? Also what do you use on the pins that hold the brake pads? It has been many years since I’ve done brakes on a Mercedes, and I don’t recall exactly what I used.

The brake shoe backing plate contact points are best served with the little packet of ceramic grease.
The starwheel is best served with a coat of silicone grease to prevent corrosion settling in it after you thoroughly clean it out. Do final adjustment through a lug hole for best performance. |

Consider replacing the shoes, they tend to literally fall apart from age even if the lining isn't worn away. As maintenance let drops of oil run down the cable into the casing where it comes out of the floor and attaches to the e-brake pedal.
Good luck!!!

Good point. I didn’t order the parts, but it’s not a if deal to pull again and replace. The rear rotors and calipers in this new 350sd are seriously bad…
