Power Steering Pump
Hi All,
It's been quite a while since I've posted. I moved off-grid in the country and don't get to drive my 1984 Mercedes 300D as much. My power steering pump was leaking from the front seal. I bought a new seal and just could not get the pulley to come off by myself. So, I sent everything back to my old Mercedes mechanic in California and he sent it back supposedly rebuilt. Before it was just leaking slowly onto my power steering lines. Right now, it just dumps a ton of fluid out. I would just like to get the whole thing rebuilt. Is there anyone out there who rebuilds these and does a good job? Thanks, Dkr. |

I don’t think anyone’s going to do a better job than you will.
There are numerous threads on here pertaining to pulley removal. It’s not a bad job at all.

What Shern said.
$7 seal kit + pulley puller + large c-clamp + 15 minutes of time, and you're done. Where is it currently leaking from? The front or the back? |
