Okay, I've got something interesting happening on my 300D. When I got the car and for the entire drive back here to the Bay Area, all the power windows worked. Only thing was the motor gear would slip when the driver's rear window got all the way to the top (I assume the regulator gears are worn considerably). However, this morning, I went to open all the windows, and the right front and left rear windows will not respond to the switches (the rear window won't respond to either switch). The left front window and the right rear window roll down perfectly normally, and the sunroof (god I love that thing
![]() I have trouble believing that both regulators and/or motors died simultaneously, although it wouldn't be the first time something like that's happened to me (was on a boat where both transmissions died within 100 yards of each other back in '99). Are the two windows on the same circuit and separate from the other two i.e. could it just be a fuse? Or what? Thoughts would be appreciated...thanks in advance!

Hi Warden,I followed your adventure over the weekend and was rooting for you guys. The windows are on two fuses so check those out first.I just eliminated a few electrical glitches by replacing all of the fuses, they were $.40 each at the dealer.I found that even though they weren't blown they had shrunk in the center (from old age?).Good luck

Windows:
After you check fuses. I bet it is the switches. That is what went out on my car. So I would check the switches with a meter and see if they are good. Before you tear into the regulators. Also if indeed the regulators are giving problems. Remove door panel and see if the are tight with their bolts. Look luck.

You may want to just go ahead and "wholesale" replace all the fuses and then take a look at the switch. They are pretty straight forward to pull out, take apart and clean. Be particular when you disassemble them - those little balls will go a rolling to never be seen again (ask me how I know). You are correct about the regulator. What you will find when you pull it apart is that the teeth on the "rack" at the end of travel (when the window is up) are going to be worn down. The rear windows in my 300D has the same problem and it has been there since I got the car 1-1/2 years ago. I am going to wait till they won't work anymore before I worry about it.
